GAME DAY RECAP: October 11, 2026

North Shore Warriors (2) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (6) U17 Prep

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy came into the Leduc Rec Centre on a two-game skid and left with a 6-2 win, and most of the damage came before many in the crowd had finished their morning coffee. The 8 a.m. puck drop didn’t slow PMHA down. Tucker Derkach (1G, 1A) and Max Faulkner (1G) scored 59 seconds apart in the opening four minutes. Then Christian Caby (1G, 1A) went in alone for an unassisted shorthanded goal while the team killed a too-many-men penalty. Zeno Seipert (1G) answered for the Warriors on a feed from Liam McMorran (1A). Late in the period, though, Hinata Hashimoto (1G, 1A) and Jacob Hollevoet (1G) struck 20 seconds apart, with Caby (1G, 1A) setting up the latter. The strange part is that North Shore outshot PMHA 21-16 in that first period and 41-40 on the day. Avery Cantleberry is the reason it didn’t matter as he turned aside 39 of 41 in the PMHA crease. Marcus Holm (1G, 1A) added a power-play goal in the second, and defenceman Ethan Field (1G) beat Cantleberry 19 seconds into the third.

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (5) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (4) U17 Prep

Two Palmers scored for two different teams, and only one of them went home happy. Jakub Palmer (3G) opened the scoring in the first and carried Indigenous Sports Academy all morning with a hat-trick, but Coeur d’Alene had the deeper bench, outshooting ISA 38-24 on the way to a 5-4 win. Luke Brandon (1G) tied it early in the second, and Sloan Moosetail (1G, 2A) put ISA back in front just 15 seconds later. The game turned in the last three minutes of that period. River Smith (2G) evened it at 17:20, then struck again on the power play with two seconds left before intermission. Defenceman Crew Palmer (1G, 1A) made it 4-2 midway through the third. Jakub Palmer (3G) answered, but Brayden Lee (1G) restored the two-goal cushion 27 seconds later, and Jagger Clark (2A) had a hand in both of those Coeur d’Alene goals. ISA pulled Grayson Girling (33/38) for a 6-on-4, and Jakub finished the hat-trick with 23 seconds to go. That was as close as ISA got.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (7) U17 Prep

Through 40 minutes, Okanagan Hockey Academy had fired 29 shots at Alexandre Montembeault and had nothing to show for any of them. The Calgary International netminder finished with 36 saves on 38 shots, and CIHA, who came in at 8-0-1, rolled to a 7-2 win. Ben MacBey (2G) opened the scoring midway through the first and struck again early in the second. That second goal started a burst of three CIHA goals in just over two minutes. Seth Gagnon (1G) scored at 6:37 to chase Hudson Swankhuizen (14/17) from the OHA crease, and Eric Sexton (2G, 1A) greeted his replacement, Holden Tamm (22/26), less than 90 seconds later. Juma Kinchen (1G, 3A) was the engine, setting up three goals before scoring one on the power play himself, and Liam Nycholat (1G, 1A) added a two-point day. OHA’s power play finally got through midway through the third, when Wyatt Bryant (1G) ended the shutout bid. Luke Couldwell (1G) scored another man-advantage goal late, leaving OHA 2-for-3 with the extra man.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (7) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep

Brock Vodden picked a good Sunday morning to find his scoring touch. He walked into Planet Ice Delta with one goal on the season and left with five, scoring four of them in Pilot Mound’s 7-2 win over Coeur d’Alene. Vodden (4G, 1A) opened the scoring midway through the first and doubled the lead on the power play before intermission. From there, the man advantage became the story. PMHA went 4-for-6, with Vodden cashing in three times, the last one with 32 seconds left. Max Schütz (1G, 2A) added an unassisted shorthanded goal early in the third. Maddox Ramage (1G, 2A), Sam McLean (2A) and Hunter Plette (2A) all had multi-point days. Coeur d’Alene went 0-for-5 on the power play. Its only goals came from Gavin Payne (1G), who scored five seconds after defenceman William Mateychuk (1G) found the net, and a shorthanded goal from defenceman Mathieu Bowerman (1G).

South Alberta Hockey Academy (5) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy got the start it wanted, then spent the rest of the morning watching it slip away. Coen Hlady (1G) scored early. After Cohenn Rotar (2G) answered on the power play, defenceman Cortland LeMieux (1G) put the home side back in front late in the first. That was as good as it got for PCHA. South Alberta outshot them 28-17 over the final 40 minutes, and Mikai Mast (37/42) was the only reason it stayed close as long as it did. Eric Schrock (1G) tied it in the second with Nixon Bettenson (2A) picking up his second helper of the day. Then the third broke open. Duke Lesnar (1G) put SAHA ahead at 3:26, and Rotar (2G) struck again 38 seconds later, unassisted, for his eighth of the season. PCHA’s power play never found an answer and finished 0-for-7. Dylan Sherban (1G) added insult with his first goal of the season, and a shorthanded one at that. Ben Meyer made 24 saves on 26 shots for the win.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (2) U17

Four meetings, four wins. RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna finished a back-to-back sweep of Coeur d’Alene and ran its season-series record to 4-0, but this one asked more questions than Saturday’s 4-0 shutout. Cole Morley (2G) struck with five seconds left in the first. Coeur d’Alene answered quickly as Kaden Winfrey (1G) and Connor Ross (1G) scored 62 seconds apart early in the second to flip the lead. RHAK, who outshot CDA 46-23, kept coming. Parks Orton (1G) tied it on the power play, and then the penalty kill took over. Oliver Peck (1G, 2A) scored shorthanded with nine seconds left in the middle frame. Morley (2G) added another shorthanded goal midway through the third, set up by Oxo Bunnik (2A). Defenceman Angus Shanks (2A) also had two helpers. Ethan Sweetland kept CDA within reach with 36 saves on 39 shots, and Joel McMillan (21/23) handled the rest.

LA Jr. Kings 16U AAA (3) vs Yale Hockey Academy (15) U18 Prep

Sixty-three shots, 15 goals and 11 different scorers. Yale Hockey Academy’s U18 Prep group bounced back from a one-goal loss to RINK Winnipeg in emphatic fashion, and the scoresheet needed some extra ink. Tanner Massey (3G, 3A) led the way with a six-point hat-trick, including two goals in the final three minutes of the first. Tony Cabelka (3A) set up three more. The blue line joined the party too with Maysen DeVries (2G, 1A), Jackson Beggs (1G, 2A), Jacson Bradbeer (1G, 1A) and Tyson Wolanski (1G) combined for five goals from the back end. YHA saved its biggest push for last, scoring seven times in the third and going 3-for-3 on the power play. After scoring once in their first two games this weekend, the Jr. Kings found the net three times, with Henry Craft (1G), Jason Shohdy (1G) and Samuel Mccloud (1G) all getting on the board.

Shawnigan Lake School (4) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (2) U17 Prep

Fifty-five seconds in, Asher Devries (1G) had Shawnigan Lake on the board, and RINK Winnipeg never climbed back into it. Wyatt Wesner (1G, 2A) set up that opener and doubled the lead himself less than three minutes later, even though Winnipeg outshot Shawnigan 15-13 in the first. Defenceman Nathan MacDonald (1G) cashed in on the power play for his first goal of the season. Chase Murgatroyd (1G, 1A) made it 4-0 midway through the second, with an unusual helper from goaltender Bryce Roache. From there, the Shawnigan netminder’s day only got busier. Aiden Christie (2G) struck twice in the third as Winnipeg put 14 shots on goal, and RHAW pulled DJ Mecas (31/35) for the final 1:38 with a power play in hand. Roache shut the door, finishing with 37 saves on 39 shots.

Prairie Hockey Academy (5) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) U17

Four starts, four shutouts. Cameron Rusyniak kept his perfect start to the season intact, turning aside all 29 shots as Prairie Hockey Academy blanked Pilot Mound 5-0 to finish a weekend sweep. The busier goalie, by a mile, was at the other end. Tyne Derkach faced 66 shots, 23 in each of the first two periods, and stopped 61 of them to keep the score respectable. Titan Sauter (1G) broke through early in the first. Less than three minutes later, defenceman Austyn Monteyne (1G, 1A), who set up the opener, scored his first goal of the season. Tony King (1G) and Rhett Benaschak (1G) added goals in the second, with Ryder Grimes (2A) assisting on both. Dylan Bye (1G) closed it out early in the third, set up by Ty Gleim (2A). Pilot Mound pushed in the final 20 minutes and put 14 shots on Rusyniak in the third, but the PHA netminder had an answer for everyone.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3) vs STAR Hockey Academy (2) U15

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy had to wait five games for its first win of the season, and it had to climb out of a hole to get it. A day after a 4-0 loss to the same opponent, PCHA was outshot 17-4 in the first. Carson Stobie (1G) scored unassisted for his first of the season, and Callan Dorzek (1G) followed on a feed from Mitchell Host (1A) to make it 2-0. The momentum turned with 24 seconds left in the period, when Jhett Gervais (1G) found the net for the first time this season, set up by defenceman Kaiden Miller (1A). The visitors owned the second, outshooting STAR 8-2, and Jaxon Potvin (1G) tied it on a helper from Jaxton Heugh (1A). Midway through the third, Jax Sluggett (1G) scored the winner on a breakaway. Dylan Van Wieren is the reason it held up as STAR fired 15 shots in the final period and 34 on the day, and the PCHA netminder stopped 32 of them.

STAR Hockey Academy (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (7) U17 Prep

Eight power plays, a penalty shot and not a single goal to show for any of it. STAR Hockey Academy got every chance it could ask for against RINK Kelowna, but the home side’s penalty kill and Max Davis shut the door each time, and a red-hot RHAK trio did the rest in a 7-2 win. Brik McCord Cooper (2G, 2A), Jaxon Lodge (1G, 3A) and Dexter Labrecque (1G, 2A) combined for 11 points. McCord Cooper opened the scoring. After Aaron Comer (1G) answered for STAR, Lodge restored the lead 48 seconds into the second. Olan Ward (1G) pulled the visitors within one late in the second, but McCord Cooper (2G, 2A) and Labrecque (1G, 2A) scored early in the third to break it open. Davis finished with 30 saves on 32 shots and stopped Graham Gerritz on a penalty shot midway through the third. RHAK outshot STAR 51-33, and Caleb O’Gorman (44/51) kept the score closer than it might have been.

Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (1) vs Notre Dame Hounds (11) U17 Prep

Notre Dame didn’t waste any time. Hudson Wicharuk (3G) scored seven seconds after the opening faceoff and the Hounds were off on an 11-1 win of Wenatchee that answered Saturday’s loss at Coeur d’Alene in a hurry. Wicharuk completed the hat-trick with two goals 21 seconds apart midway through the second. They were part of a five-goal period that chased Reed Hickman (25/34) from the Wenatchee crease. Bennett Weger (2G, 2A) scored the first two goals of his season, Alex Krylov (3A) set up three, and Chartrand (2G, 1A) added a pair of his own. Seven different Hounds scored and 15 of their 17 skaters made the scoresheet as Notre Dame outshot Wenatchee 62-14. Linden Spasoff (13/14) had a quiet morning in goal until Micah Bottamini (1G) broke up the shutout bid midway through the third with his first of the season.

Yale Hockey Academy (2) vs St. George’s School (7) U15

Through 40 minutes, Yale Hockey Academy had managed six shots on goal, and St. George’s had a 5-0 lead. Defenceman Ethan Godwin (1G) set the tone 18 seconds in with his first goal of the season. Then Rhys Borisoff (2G, 2A) and Misha Rapoport (2G, 2A) took over. They set each other up on back-to-back goals late in the first, the second from Borisoff with 10 seconds left on the clock, and each added another before the morning was through. Adam Johnson (1G, 2A) and Matthew Fu (3A) also had multi-point days, and Eli Faulds (1G) chipped in midway through the second. Yale finally woke up in the third, outshooting St. George’s 18-11 in the period. Defenceman Gerrit Bray (1G) scored his first of the season 31 seconds in, and Carter Jackson (1G) added a late goal, but Jack Jeffery (22/24) turned aside the rest to keep the home side comfortably ahead.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) vs BWC Academy (1) U17

BWC Academy threw 15 shots at Nash Atkinson in the third period, and the Okanagan netminder had an answer for all but one. That was enough for OHA to hold on for a 2-1 win in Burnaby and finish a weekend sweep after Saturday’s 4-0 result. A costly penalty turned the game. Owen Magness (1G) made the home side pay 22 seconds into the second, with defenceman Riley Hansen (1A) and Brysten Campbell (1A) assisting. Reece Verrier (1G) doubled the lead less than five minutes later. Goodman (1G) made up for his penalty 1:33 into the third, and from there it was all BWC. OHA killed off two minors, and BWC pulled AJ Kwok (27/29) late for the extra attacker. Atkinson held on, finishing with 34 saves on 35 shots.

Prairie Hockey Academy (5) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) U18 Prep

Prairie Hockey Academy’s U18 Prep group had waited all season for a win, and it nearly let this one slip away. PHA scored four times in the first 13 minutes, including first goals of the season from defenceman Seth Watson (1G) and Owen Grassick (1G). Then Okanagan clawed back. Talon Scinocca (1G, 1A) answered on the power play and set up Gage Mark (1G) less than two minutes later. In the second, defenceman Rocklen Stordy (1G) and Ollie Halowaty (1G) each scored their first of the season, Rylan Bengert (2A) setting up both, to tie it 4-4. Nixon Friesen (1G, 2A) put PHA back in front on the power play 55 seconds into the third. Jack Utsunomiya (26/31) kept OHA alive two minutes later by stopping Kase Gellner (1G) on a penalty shot. At the other end, Gavin Hildebrand shut the door in the third and finished with 24 saves on 28 shots.

OHA Edmonton (2) vs St. George’s School (3/OT) U18 Prep

St. George’s carried a perfect record into Sunday, and Cam Hoose spent most of the game trying to end it. The OHA Edmonton netminder made 35 saves on 38 shots, and his teammates gave him a lead to protect. Holden Tuttle (1G) opened the scoring early for the home side. Defenceman Chayse Fedoriuk (1G) answered on the power play, and Artello Forestal (1G) put OHAE ahead with 14 seconds left in the first. That 2-1 lead survived a scoreless second and most of the third, even as SGS poured 16 shots on Hoose in the final period. The breakthrough finally came on the power play, when defenceman Quinn Pickering (1G) tied it at 9:55. Overtime turned on a penalty. As Aaron Castro (1G) cashed in at 2:55 on the man advantage. Defenceman Dax Diep (2A) assisted on both late goals as St. George’s improved to 3-0.

OHA Edmonton (2) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (4) U15

Nine seconds. That’s how long OHA Edmonton’s third period lead lasted. Duke Hughes (1G) put the visitors ahead 2-1 at 7:28, and Emerson Constable (1G, 2A) answered almost before the celebration ended. That goal sparked a three-goal finish that gave Calgary International a 4-2 win and a weekend sweep. Constable and Landon Dalziel (2G, 2A) were in on all three of those goals. Thompson Kreba (1G) put CIHA ahead with both of them assisting, and Dalziel sealed it late on a feed from Constable (1G, 2A). Dalziel had also tied the game early in the second, after Miles Weisgerber (1G) opened the scoring for OHAE in the first. Oliver Tisnic (28/30) and Ayden Medeiros (31/35) traded saves through two even periods.

Delta Hockey Academy (9) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (0) U17 Prep

It was all Delta as they outshot NAX 63-25 en route to a 9-0 win. Colby Walker (3G, 2A) led the way with a hat-trick while setting up Carson Brown (1G, 2A) for the game winning goal midway through the first with a great pass from behind the net. Mazen Green (1G, 3A) added four points while Bryaden Allan (25/25) made 25 saves for the shutout. After making 52 saves in a win Friday, Kash Andersen (54/63) made 54 today in the loss for NAX.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (1) vs STAR Hockey Academy (5) U17

After falling to Pacific Coast yesterday, STAR bounced back quick today as Jack Adsit (2G) opened the scoring on the power play in the first period. Camden Freeman (2G, 1A) and Killian Haggard (1G, 1A) added second period goals as STAR increased their lead to 3-0 after 40. Adsit added his second of the game midway through the third as STAR was in total control. Matthew Lavoie would get Pacific Coast on the board with 5:43 left in the third, ending the Brenden Sayles (23/24) shutout bid. Pacific Coast would pull the goalie to look for an equalizer, but Freeman buried the empty netter with 1:18 left to secure the win.

BWC Academy (4) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (7) U17 Prep

In a battle of two of the top teams in the U17 Prep division, SAHA (8-1-1) came out on top 7-4 over BWC Academy (8-2-0). BWC Academy forward Carter Yule opened the scoring 2:25 into the first as he picked up a rebound in the slot and fired it past Cole Anderson (14/18). SAHA defenseman Mark Ma (1G, 1A) evened the scoring just a few minutes later, going end-to-end and slipping it five-hole on Jordan Bigelow (30/37). SAHA would take their first lead late in the period as Kyan Vansandt (2G, 1A) tipped home a Nolan Scott point shot 36 seconds before Jaxon Scherr put home a rebound off the rush. Trailing 3-1, Hayden Carpenter (2G) would get BWC Academy within one as he fired one high blocker on the power play, before tying the game a few minutes later with a shot off the rush that once again beat Anderson blocker side. The blocker side goal trend continued, this time off the stick of Lincoln Bensler (1G, 1A) as he wired one in stride to restore the SAHA lead 7:20 into the second. Vansandt would double the lead, hitting double digit goals on the season, after a heavy SAHA forecheck allowed him to finish a loose puck in front of the net. BWC Academy would once again climb within one, with Ryder Bui being the beneficiary. But that was as close as they would get as Lucas Fisher (2G, 1A) scored 59 seconds later and again with 12 seconds left to clinch the 7-4 win for the home side.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (1) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (7) U17 Prep

Reid Florent (3G) scored just 53 seconds into the game as Prairie led 1-0 after 20. Pacific Coast would tie the game 10:27 into the second as Kingston Fisher scored his second goal of the season. Prairie would regain the lead late in the second as Deklan Street (1G, 1A) put home a rebound on the power play while all alone in front of the net. Prairie would take complete control of the game in the third as Cooper Hale, Florent, Kayin Belton (1G, 1A), and Tay Mann (1G, 1A) all scored to give the home side a 7-1 win over a Pacific Coast team that was firing on all cylinders coming into the game. Conner Aldag (36/37) and Rio Manhas (38/45) were in net for their respective teams.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (11) U15 Prep

After falling 9-8 in OT on Friday, RHA Winnipeg got revenge Sunday with an 11-0 win over Pilot Mound. Lyrik Selch (1G, 5A) led all skaters with six points while Liam Hailstone (3G, 2A) recorded a hat-trick to pace the offence. Chase Shymko (18/18) made 18 saves to earn the shutout win.

Notre Dame Hounds (6) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep

Devin Doyle (4G, 1A) and Kason Nicholson traded first period goals 10 minutes apart as the game was all square at 1-1 after 20. Ozbej Slabe restored the Notre Dame lead with the lone second period goal, his first of the season. Notre Dame came out flying to start the third with four straight goals as Doyle scored 3 more times and Luke Oldfield (1G, 3A) tallied his first of the year. Dustin Mano would get one past Caden Smith (22/24) in the final minute to halt the run, but it was nothing more than a consolation goal for Wenatchee in the 6-2 loss.

Calgary International Hockey Academy (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4/OT) U18 Prep

The lone goal of the first period belonged to CIHA as Rylan Wood found the back of the net with 1:10 to play in the frame. Mason Alexander evened the score 1:34 into the second but Chad Clark (1G, 1A) restored the CIHA lead less than two minutes later with his fourth of the season. RHA Kelowna would tie the game again 4:16 into the third on Riley Kennedy’s first of the season. The back-and-forth affair continued as Easton Barry (1G, 1A) restored the CIHA lead midway through the third, but RHA Kelowna once again had an answer with Alexander Sharman (1G, 1A) tying the game three minutes later. The two teams would eventually head to overtime where Kesler Hamilton (1G, 1A) would give RHA Kelowna a 4-3 win in a game in which they never led. Hunter Zawislak (29/32) and Braxton Gibson (32/36) were in net for their respective teams.

St. George’s School (2) vs OHA Edmonton (3) U17 Prep

OHA Edmonton U17 Prep edged St. George’s School 3-2 in overtime after a back-and-forth contest that saw Edmonton open the scoring with two second-period goals from Jaxson Weisgerber and Gavin Gong, building a 2-0 lead. St. George’s responded with a power-play marker from Liam Hussey before Matteo Gambetti scored less than two minutes later to even the game at 2-2. Neither team found a winner in the third period, sending the matchup to overtime. At 2:47 of the extra frame, Tucker Porter buried the game-winning goal for OHA Edmonton, assisted by Nate Harrington and Kane Strudwick. Edmonton controlled much of the play offensively, finishing with a commanding 53-23 advantage in shots on goal, but St. George’s goaltender Hudson Waddell made 50 saves to keep his team in contention. Zayden Maclean stopped 21 shots for Edmonton as the visitors secured the 3-2 overtime victory.

Yale Hockey Academy (6) vs Edge School (0) U17 Prep

Yale Hockey Academy’s U17 Prep squad entered Sunday’s clash with Edge School looking to build on Saturday’s 6-2 win over the Northern Alberta Xtreme, while Edge School were hoping to bounce back from a loss to Delta Hockey Academy. Ultimately, Yale put together a dominant performance at both ends of the ice, outshooting Edge 50-37 and shutting out the Mountaineers in a convincing 6-0 victory. Theodore Kim opened the scoring at 13:40 of the first period, with Marcus Phillips picking up the assist on what would stand as the game-winning goal. Yale wasted little time extending their lead in the second, with Carter Di Stefano scoring shorthanded just 1:05 into the period. The Lions would add two more late in the frame, with Max Ritchey finding the back of the net at 14:05 before Jace Williams followed up less than two minutes later to make it 4-0. Williams added his second of the game in the third period, scoring at 14:33 off a feed from Ryker Stevens and Jaiden Naslund, before Lukas Bachler rounded out the scoring with 1:44 remaining. Naslund finished with three assists, while Phillips added two helpers to his tally. Lucca Tassone turned aside all 37 shots he faced to record the shutout for Yale, while Chase Miles made 44 saves on 50 shots for Edge School in a game that saw the Lions steadily pull away and leave the Mountaineers unable to find a response.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (3) vs Shawnigan Lake School (4) U18 Prep

The Northern Alberta Xtreme and Shawnigan Lake School went back and forth throughout Sunday’s U18 Prep clash, with neither team able to establish much separation before a dramatic finish. Spencer Currie opened the scoring for Shawnigan, but Easton Nafziger (2G) responded on the powerplay to tie the game before the first intermission. Malakai Andrews gave NAX their first lead in the second, only for Carson Peet to level the score on a Shawnigan powerplay with just over a minute remaining in the period. Nafziger’s second powerplay goal restored Northern Alberta’s lead early in the third, a lead they’d hold until the final five minutes. Matthew Steele tied the game at three with 4:58 remaining, and with overtime looming, Sammy Hoeft struck with just 22 seconds left to give Shawnigan their first lead since the opening period. Donagh Esler-Twiss stopped 38 of 41 shots for Shawnigan, backstopping a 4-3 win that saw them come from behind twice in the final forty minutes.

STAR Hockey Academy (2) vs BWC Academy (1) U18 Prep

STAR Hockey Academy and BWC Academy’s U18 Prep squads entered Sunday’s clash coming off contrasting results on Saturday, with STAR having thumped Notre Dame 11-2 while BWC fell 6-3 to South Alberta Hockey Academy. STAR carried their momentum into Sunday, with Dylan Gale opening the scoring just 65 seconds into the game. Hunter Hoggan doubled the advantage late in the first, but BWC responded immediately, with Kayden Pratt scoring just 14 seconds later to cut the deficit in half. That, however, would be the last time either team found the back of the net. BWC pushed hard for an equalizer, outshooting STAR 39-25 over sixty minutes, but Erik Sims (38/39) was superb in between the pipes, stopping all 29 shots he faced over the final forty minutes to preserve STAR’s narrow 2-1 victory.
